What crosshair placement means in VALORANT
Crosshair placement is the habit of preparing your aim for where an opponent may appear. Head level, the next angle, and the distance from cover all matter before you fire.
Offangle reports the median angular distance between your crosshair at first contact and the enemy head at first damage, in degrees. A lower measured distance means a smaller adjustment in the typical eligible engagement.
Read how crosshair placement is measuredInterpret the measurement before changing your habits
Read angular error with the contributing sample and time to damage. The median describes the typical measured engagement; it does not summarize every angle you held or every opponent you saw.
There is no single universal “good” angle. Weapons, distance, movement, and the selected opponents affect the situations you encounter. Rank benchmarks are observational context, not a target that every player must meet.
Compare measured crosshair placement by VALORANT rankTurn a recurring pattern into a review focus
Use the measurement to find an issue to investigate in the replay. Review how you prepared for likely contact rather than judging the final flick in isolation.
- Review the angle immediately before the opponent appears.
- Check whether your crosshair was at the expected head height.
- Consider how far from the corner you held for that opponent’s movement.
- Choose one recurring setup to practice and compare another ranked match.
Analyze a native replay instead of a recording
Choose a ranked Competitive PC .vrf file from %localappdata%\VALORANT\Saved\Demos and upload it to Offangle. No account or screen recording is required.
The example on this page is illustrative. Your report uses the eligible evidence in your own replay, and unavailable measurements are not shown as zero.
